Ranbir Kapoor is born in 28th September, 1982 at Mumbai. He is the son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor and Grandson of the legendary Raj Kapoor and Great grandson of Prithvi Raj Kapoor. He has one elder sister Riddhima. Ranbir is close to his Mother Neetu. His schooling was in Bombay Scottish School in Mahim. He pursued film making & acting method at the School of Visual Arts and Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute respectively.
He started his career as an Assistant Director to his dad for “Aa Ab Laut Chalen” (1999) and also with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Film “Black” in 2005. Ranbir’s debut film is Bhanasali’s “Saawariya” in 2007 which not succeed in Box office but he got Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His first success was “Bachna Ae Haseeno”(2008). His success then started to take off by “Wake up sid”(2009), “Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahani”(2009) & “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year” for which he nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award & receive Critics Award for Best Actor for these three films of 2009. He got Filmfare Critics & Best Actor Award for for “Rockstar” (2010) and Filmfare Best Actor for “Barfi!” (2012). “Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani” was Biggest Blockbuster of 2013 but he also faced failure between 2013 to 2015 for “Besharam”, “Bombay Velvet”,” Roy” & “Tamasha”. In 2016 he was back with “Ae Dil Hei Mushkil” but his recent film “Jagga Jasoos” failed on Boxoffice. Now he is in lime light for Sanjay Dutt’s biographic film “Sanju” directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film is set to be released on June 15, 2018.
He was in relationship with Deepika & Katrina but now he is single. In 2009 People magazine listed him as the “Sexiest Man Alive” in India, and in 2013 he topped Filmfare’s poll of the “Most Stylish Young Actor”. Also in 2013, he was one of the recipients of the “People of the Year” award by the Limca Book of Records. In 2010, he was voted the “Sexiest Asian Man” for the magazine Eastern Eye and continued feature in top ten list till 2014.
