Sonam Kapoor was born in the Mumbai on 9 June 1985. Her father is actor and producer Anil Kapoor and mother Sunita is a former model and designer. She did her schooling from the Arya Vidya Mandir School located in Juhu. After this she went to the United World College of South East Asian in Singapore to studied theatre and arts for 2 years in Singapore. She also studied Political Science and Economics from the University of East London. She had younger siblings Rhea Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Actor Arjun Kapoor is her cousin.

Sonam Kapoor’s debut film was “Sawaariya” opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 2007 before that she worked as Assistant Director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for “Black”. Her career’s first hit was Punit Malhotra’s “I Hate luv Story”. After that she appears in some of films but didn’t work out on box office. “Raanjhanaa”(2013), “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”(2013), “Khoobsurat”(2014), “Dolly ki Doli”(2015) and  “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo ”(2015) are the Hits of Sonam Kapoor for which she got Two awards for Best Actress in a Comedy or Romance. She became a one of the Popular Actresses of Bollywood. Her career’s best movie till date is Ram Madhvani’s biographical thriller “Neerja (2016). she got lots awards, Filmfare Best Actress Critics, Lokmat Maharashtra Best Actress, National Film Awards, Indian Film Festival Melbourne, Asian Awards and Stardust Awards Editor Choice for her Role in ”Neerja”.  She is Style Icon of Bolywood work for many of popular Magazines and also  Active in Social Media. She was featured in Rediff.com’s list of “Bollywood’s Best Dressed Actresses” in 2012 and 2013 and also in list of Eastern Eye’s “World’s Sexiest Asian Women” from 2011 to 2014.  She supported charitable organisations for widows and orphans, She is also the brand ambassador for the Elle Breast Cancer Campaign. Her awaited movies are “Pad Man” and“Veere Di Wedding”.
